Yes We Can” under the umbrella of Family Ministry, St. Matthew UMC is a movement of activities in the world to reclaim our communities for Christ. Through the combined efforts of churches, organizations, communities, and individuals, we work together to better the lives of all residents and neighbors, especially our youth. We share the “Good News” of Jesus Christ with individuals on the streets and distribute “Yes We Can” buttons and tracts.
We coordinate two major annual activities.
The Spiritual/Positive T-Shirt Day is held on the third Saturday of September. Participants are asked to step outside their door, PRAY aloud for God’s love and peace to fill the atmosphere throughout our cities and the world. WEAR a Spiritual/Positive T-Shirt to saturate the streets with God’s Powerful Word in their daily outings.
The Turner Station Community Worship Service is held in September at the Pastors’ discretion. Churches of Turner Station join together in unity to praise and worship God. This combined service provides an opportunity for invited unchurched community members to share in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and receive salvation in a setting of neighborhood togetherness and
comfortability.
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT). God’s Word is True. LET’S WORK!
